Paris Saint-Germain Edges Marseille in a Shootout to Lift French Super Cup in the Middle East.

PSG players celebrating

PSG has now secured the season-opening trophy on 14 separate times.

Paris Saint-Germain required a stoppage-time leveler followed by a perfect spot-kick decider to get past Marseille in the Gulf and capture a fourth straight Trophee des Champions victory.

The European champions seemed to be sailing towards a comfortable triumph in the showdown between the Ligue 1 champions and the French Cup winners after Ousmane Dembele found the scoring early on.

However, Marseille fired two times in the closing moments to seize a shock lead. Initially, the English forward scored from the penalty spot, before the defender inadvertently turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a breathtaking twist of fortune, the Portuguese striker grabbed a vital equaliser in the dying seconds to send the match into a deciding shootout. The Parisian shot-stopper Lucas Chevalier then stood as the key figure, stopping decisive kicks from Matt O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

In the shootout, Ramos, Vitinha, the full-back, and the young talent all scored with composure for PSG to seal a convincing penalty victory.

The record winners PSG, who met last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique de Marseille after achieving a domestic double, have now lifted this trophy for the twelfth time in the last thirteen seasons.
